How to get practice minutes

Ways to earn platform benefits and points for speaking. Numbers follow the App.

Speaking uses practice minutes. Minutes come from benefits (platform grants) and points (subscription or packs). See Points and benefits.

This page only answers where practice minutes can come from. Amounts, expiry, and availability always follow what the App / campaign pages show.

Personal leans on points & benefits; Family / Teaching lean on pool allocation—don’t mix the two views.

In one sentence

DodoTalk may grant benefit minutes via welcome trial, level checks / live pair, invites, check-ins, and campaigns. You can also use subscription points or buy point packs. Practice spends soon-to-expire benefits first.

Role tips

RoleTip
PersonalUse trial and invite benefits to build a daily habit, then decide on a subscription
ParentClaim on the main account, then allocate minutes to the child account; children cannot use LINE for member login
TeachingPrefer pool minutes for learner tasks; learners should rarely buy on their own; re-checks and summaries stay in the browser App

Common mistakes

  • Expired benefits ≠ points gone — check ledgers separately.
  • Website “rewards” ≠ a fixed monthly minute number — follow App cards and campaigns.
  • Only repeating website mini-checks — limited upside; habits live in practice loops.
  • Expecting child accounts to claim LINE benefits — member accounts cannot sign in with LINE; parents claim, then allocate.

If…

  • Can still practice shows 0: check expired benefits and monthly points; buy a pack or wait for check-in / campaigns. See Practice FAQ.
  • Ledger looks wrong: Me → Points & benefits, filter by date; contact support with screenshots if needed.
  • Need membership tiers: Membership tiers, Minutes pool and top-ups.
