How charges work: plans · add-ons · materials · AI scoring

Inflows and outflows aligned with current App metering (not marketing guesswork).

This article matches the site Billing & Cancellation Policy and current App metering. Prices follow checkout; minutes charged follow the prompts when you end practice.

In one line

  • Buy: Personal subscription, minute add-on packs, Material Store (content access).
  • Spend: Self practice / regular live pair by effective duration (round up to whole minutes, min 1); Learn vocab / listening / speaking drills only when AI scoring runs and items score; placement and invite free pair are free by default.

What you buy (inflows)

TypeWhat you getWhere
Personal subscriptionMonthly subscription minutes (usually no rollover)Me → Purchase center
Minute add-on packsPermanent practice minutesMe → Purchase center
Material StoreContent access, not a minute pack; bonus minutes only if the SKU says soLearn → Material Store

Treat “add-on” as two different things: time add-ons vs material SKUs. A subscription is not all-access materials; buying materials is not unlimited AI scoring.

What you spend (one minute pool)

Order: benefits → subscription minutes → add-on minutes.

Drill AI scoring (not “1 item = 1 minute”)

Doing the exercise itself does not consume minutes.
If you choose AI scoring at End, you are charged once for scored items only. Skip / scoring never started / unscored items → no charge.

Rates are by skill in blocks (same rule as the End dialog)—not flat 1 item = 1 minute:

SkillBlock (summary)Examples
Vocabulary~10 items per minute block1–10 scored items often 1 minute
Listening~4 items per minute block1–5 often 1; 6–7 often 2
Speaking items~2 items per minute block1 → 1; 3 → 2; 5 → 3

At least 1 minute when any item can be scored. Trust the End dialog’s “up to X minutes”; settlement uses the same rule on scored count. Details: AI scoring.

Family / Teaching

Children / students spend their own benefits plus allocated minutes; AI scoring may be switched in Space settings → Practice page settings. See Minutes pool.
